The Hoxton Hotel

February 15, 2017

Earlier on, I wrote an article about The Hoxton Hotel and its lobby area with the yummy restaurant Lotti’s.This time it’s all about the hotel itself.

Back in 2015, I was happy when I heard The Hoxton would be soon opening in Amsterdam, on the Herengracht! I used to sleep in the Hoxton while traveling to London: It’s modern and different from other hotels you may have seen and I like the idea that you can eat, work, sleep and play at the same place!

Since its opening it is one of the hottest spots here in Amsterdam: due to the great restaurant and the large public areas giving it a special cosy atmosphere!

I personally love the fact that the locals are going at The Hoxton to have a Sunday brunch or dinner so it doesn’t feel just like a hotel!

Last weekend, I had the chance to have a tour of The Hoxton Hotel as I use to go there often (a lot) but I never actually saw the bedrooms. Now I can definitely recommend the hotel if you are visiting Amsterdam for a few days!

The Hoxton is spread over five canal houses. One of them was even the house of the mayer of Amsterdam in the XVII century! Many of the 111 rooms are facing the Herengracht or Singel canals: PRETTY!

The location is perfect! In the heart of Amsterdam on the most beautiful canal of the city, the Herengracht but far enough away from the busyness of the city centre for it to feel a bit more calm.

There are 3 different sizes of rooms; the shoebox, the cosy (20 sqm) and the roomy (28 sqm), each beautifully appointed.

The bathrooms are lovely and well decorated with nice small details like the copper piping as towel bars, a rainfall shower, and lovely smelling shampoo and conditioner! I love the overall cosy atmosphere from the lobby to the room!

Downstairs, near the restaurant is a cool area called The Apartment. It is made up of 5 different meeting rooms, a kitchen an outdoor patio where you can privatise for events or meetings!

Oh and who doesn’t like to come back home with souvenirs?! The Hoxton has a cool vintage Photobooth from Photoautomat_amsterdam. Yeah!
